The above is the ratio of the national debt at the end of a four-year term to the national debt at the beginning of the same term (low numbers are better, 1.00 = national debt at long-term sustainable level). Source data here and here.
This is less to hork on Bush specifically than to note the general trends. Which party has more responsible administrations?
